MY Applied Digital Learning CREATION Part 1

Within the Applied Digital Learning program (ADL), I have learned about an approach to learning that has allowed me to collaborate with my peers and professors in a way that has allowed me to be successful. The Choice, Ownership, Voice, and Authenticity (COVA) learning approach is an approach the I would like to transfer into my classroom. This approach allows myself and my students to be more successful in learning and gaining new knowledge. It has allowed me to take more confidence and control of my learning. While I am using this approach to become a better teacher and grow my knowledge, so are my professors that are teaching me these approaches to learning. Dr. Harapnuik says in every meeting and conversation that we will never do anything that he would not. The COVA approach has allowed me to be successful and succeed in the ADL Program.

This is my second semester in the ADL Program, and I have used the COVA approach to create my own authentic innovation project, an ePortfolio, a growth plan, an Influencer plan, and a learning manifesto that is in progress. Within these projects and plans, I have had the opportunity to choose what platform I will use, the theme of each project, the pages I was able to create with in the ePortfolio, and how I would like to present these ideas in one space. While having the choice for all these things has allowed me to take ownership in my work and create the best plans and projects for myself and my organizations. I have been able to use my voice to share my ideas in projects and with my peers and professors. Overall, I have created an authentic project. At the end of the program, I will be able to continue tackling the COVA approach in my project and future projects. I will continue growing from the COVA approach to enhance my learner's mindset, where I will never stop learning and gaining new knowledge to pull into my current and future career.

The ADL Program is a true example of a program that allows its students to use the COVA approach in all assignments and projects with continued feedback and feedforward from peers and professors.
