The Importance of Networking- My Story on Autism and Neurodiversity

Think of a topic that you know a lot of knowledge on. When I think of a topic that I have a lot of knowledge on, the first thing that comes to my mind is the topic on Autism and Neurodiversity. Being an individual with an Autism Spectrum Disorder, I have done lots of research to learn about this amazing topic. As a reflect on all my knowledge on Autism and Neurodiversity, I always wonder about new knowledge or knowledge that I have not come across about the topic of Autism and Neurodiversity. What do you know about Autism and Neurodiversity?

If you answered the question above, I would love to connect with you. This is where the importance of networking comes in. Two or more people have interest and knowledge on the same topic. My knowledge my be the same as yours, but I bet there is knowledge that I have that you did not know, and you have knowledge that I did not know. Now we can network and share our knowledge and grow each others toolbox on Autism and Neurodiversity.

Ever since I started the Applied Digital Learning Program at Lamar University in Beaumont, TX in Summer of 2023, I have set up my LinkedIn account. My LinkedIn account has allowed me to network and collaborate with individuals around the world on Autism and Neurodiversity. I have also been able to join a wonderful collaboration group in which we become a family of educators who love to share ideas and knowledge on projects, assignments, and life. Part of this collaboration group, I have a peer who I have had the opportunity to network with about her child that is on the Autism Spectrum.

We network to gain new and old knowledge on topics and ideas of interest, to meet people that share similar interest, and to grow as an individual!
