The Journey of Creating My Authentic ePortfolio

The success and completion of building something new can be determined by the mindset an individual has. An individual with a growth mindset over the ideas and knowledge they are creating will allow them to be more successful. This summer I was able to create and learn about an authentic project that I would be able to begin to build. I started my project with a growth mindset and wanting to learn more about an eportfolio and its benefits. Then I moved on to build my own authentic portfolio using the Wix platform.

As I continued to grow my learning and the creation of my ePortfolio, I was able to create an innovation project to help students with different abilities create and share their own personal ePortfolios. You can explore my proposal, literature review, implementation outline and further research within my ePortfolio. I plan to continue to grow my ePortfolio as I dig deeper into more research.

I can take ownership of my learning and reflections while creating them in blog posts and pages. Throughout my site I was able to choose the pictures, charts, arrows and other elements which allowed me to have control of my work and presentation. You can find an about page that includes my contact information, a biography, my education, and my work experience in the general education and special education settings.

I would not trade the ePortfolio experience that I had this summer with anything. I definitely have a growth mindset and continuing to build my ePortfolio through self-reflections, collaboration with peers and colleagues, and new knowledge from research. It is a single place where I can share who I am, what I can do and what I plan on doing to grow myself as an educator inside and outside the classroom.
